How much does Booksy cost in the UK?

Booksy's own pricing page says "no hidden fees", and the monthly number really is simple. The bit that catches people out is the 30% Boost commission. Here is the honest, full picture for 2026, with worked examples, so you can work out what Booksy would actually cost your business.

The short answer

At the time of writing (June 2026), Booksy Biz costs:

There is no permanent free plan for businesses. There is a short free trial, and the customer-facing marketplace is free for clients to browse. That is usually what people mean when they ask "is Booksy free", and the answer for a business is no.

The monthly subscription

The base price is £40 a month for a single user. Each extra staff member adds £5 a month. So:

That subscription includes unlimited bookings, text and email reminders, and a free listing on the Booksy marketplace. For the monthly fee alone, it is reasonable value and broadly in line with the rest of the market.

The bit people miss: Boost

Boost is Booksy's marketplace promotion. Turn it on and Booksy pushes your profile to people searching its app and website. When a brand new client books you because of that, Booksy charges a one-off commission of 30% of their first visit (minimum £5, and VAT is added on top). After that first appointment, you keep 100% of what that client spends with you.

A worked example. A new client finds you on the Booksy marketplace and books a £60 first appointment:

Get ten new Boost clients in a month at that average and you have paid around £216 in commission, on top of your subscription. That is the trade Booksy offers: it brings you new clients from its marketplace, and it takes a cut of the first visit for doing so.

To be fair to Booksy, Boost is optional and it is a one-off per client, not a fee on every booking forever. If you never switch it on, you do not pay it. But the marketplace is most of why people choose Booksy in the first place, so for a lot of businesses Boost is the point, and the commission is real money.

A common myth: "Booksy charges 1.5% per booking"

You will see this figure repeated all over the place, and we have used it ourselves in the past. It is not how Booksy actually works. Booksy does not take a flat percentage of every booking. The real costs are the monthly subscription, standard card processing fees, and the optional 30% Boost commission on new marketplace clients. We are putting that right wherever we have repeated it, because accurate is better than scary.

So is Booksy worth it?

It depends entirely on where your clients come from.

Booksy makes sense if you genuinely rely on its marketplace to find new clients, you are in a busy town where people search Booksy by habit, and you are happy to pay 30% of a first visit to win each new face.

Booksy gets expensive if most of your clients are regulars, or come from Instagram, word of mouth and walk-ins. In that case you are paying £40 to £60 a month for booking software, and the marketplace you are paying for is not really bringing you anything you could not get yourself.

The 0% commission alternative

The honest trade-off: Booksy can send you new clients from its marketplace, and Solovi does not have a marketplace.
