This Cookie Policy explains how Solovi uses cookies and similar technologies on solovi.co.uk and our customer subdomains. It is written to comply with UK PECR and UK GDPR.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. They let websites remember preferences, keep you logged in, and measure usage. Similar technologies (local storage, session storage) work the same way for our purposes.
2. Honest summary
Solovi does not set any tracking cookies on the marketing site (solovi.co.uk). We use a self-hosted analytics platform (Umami) that is cookieless by design. So the marketing site you're reading right now sets zero cookies for analytics or marketing purposes.
On customer-facing booking sites, we use:
- Strictly necessary cookies, to remember your booking step, your customer session, and CSRF tokens. These do not require consent under PECR.
- Preference cookies, to remember your cookie consent choice itself. Without this we'd ask you every visit.
We do not use marketing cookies, advertising cookies, Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, Hotjar, or any other tracking technology.
3. Cookies by category
Strictly necessary
solovi_customer_session, keeps you logged in to your customer account on a trader's site. 30 days. HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax.solovi_booking_step, preserves your booking progress if you refresh. Session only.solovi_cookie_consent, stores your cookie preference choice. 12 months.
Analytics
None. We use Umami, which is cookieless and uses anonymous hashing instead.
Marketing
None.
Personalization (localStorage, not a cookie)
If you arrive at solovi.co.uk by clicking a personalized link in an outreach email we sent you, we use your browser's local storage (not a cookie) to remember your business name and industry so the page can show "Welcome, Sarah ✨" instead of generic copy. This data never leaves your device unless you submit a form. You can clear it any time via your browser's site-data settings. Honoured: the Do-Not-Track header (we skip everything) and explicit cookie consent rejection (we don't persist between page loads).
4. Third-party cookies
If you make a payment via Stripe Checkout, Stripe sets its own cookies on its checkout page. These are required for fraud prevention and payment processing. See Stripe's privacy policy: stripe.com/privacy.
5. Your choices
- You can clear or block cookies through your browser settings, though doing so for strictly necessary cookies will break the booking and login flow.
- On customer-facing booking sites, you can change your consent at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
6. Cookie retention
Specific cookie lifetimes are listed in section 3 above. Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies expire on the dates shown or when you clear them.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as the service evolves. Material changes update the "Last updated" date.
